Committee Volunteer
Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County is seeking dedicated volunteers to join various committees that help us grow and achieve our mission. Each committee plays a crucial role in promoting homeownership and strengthening our community.
Committee Opportunities:
Fund Development and Public Relations:
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on donor development and engagement.
- Maintain and nurture donor relationships.
- Develop and facilitate campaigns and fundraising events.
- Assist with marketing, publicizing, and promoting Habitat for Humanity's goals throughout the county.
Construction and Site Selection:
- Oversee all construction activities and material costing.
- Approve house and site plans.
- Recommend new construction policies to the Board and monitor their implementation.
Family Selection / Partnership:
- Oversee all aspects of family selection.
- Evaluate applications and recommend homebuyer partners for Board approval.
- Suggest changes in selection criteria.
- Develop partner family education programs, coordinate education seminars, and social events.
Volunteer:
- Identify, recruit, orient, organize, schedule, utilize, retain, and recognize volunteers.
- Ensure the program is volunteer-friendly and provides a rewarding experience to maintain high participation levels.
Community Engagement Crew

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with events and fundraisers throughout the year. From helping with event setup and registration to engaging with the community at outreach booths, you’ll play an important role in making each gathering a success.
This is a fun and rewarding way to support our mission while connecting with the community. There are a variety of ways to get involved, including:
- Assisting with event setup and teardown
- Helping with registration or check-in
- Engaging with community members at outreach booths
